The YU Taekwondo Peru Expedition 2027 takes us on an extraordinary journey through Peru from 22 October to 3 November 2027. Over 13 days, we combine Taekwondo, culture, nature, mental training, meditation and unforgettable shared experiences.
Our route takes us from Lima into the Peruvian Andes, through the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu and Cusco, onward to the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain and then into the fascinating world of the Moche civilisation. The expedition concludes with several days in the Amazon rainforest.
YU Taekwondo training in extraordinary locations meets historical sites, impressive landscapes, cultural encounters, meditation and mental training. Above all, we experience this unique expedition together as the YU community.
The YU Taekwondo Peru Expedition 2027 combines extraordinary destinations with the values and experiences that define our YU community. Training, personal development and shared adventures accompany us through the different regions of Peru.
Our surroundings constantly change: from the heights of the Andes to historical Inca and Moche sites and deep into the Amazon rainforest. Each region offers new perspectives, experiences and challenges.
Instead of a traditional training camp, participants can look forward to an expedition where Taekwondo becomes part of a much larger experience. Training, meditation and mental development alternate with cultural activities, natural wonders and discoveries made together.
Taekwondo accompanies us throughout the journey. YU Taekwondo training sessions are planned in extraordinary locations, from the Sacred Valley to the Moche region and the Amazon rainforest. This makes our martial arts practice an integral part of the expedition.
The focus extends beyond technical development. Training in a completely new environment changes the way we experience our own abilities. Concentration, adaptability, perseverance and teamwork take on new meaning outside the familiar training hall.
Different climates, altitudes and landscapes create new training conditions throughout the journey. Instead of a traditional dojang, the surrounding environment becomes part of the experience.
Meditation and mental training complement this approach. Physical activity, mental focus and conscious awareness work together, making Taekwondo a meaningful part of the entire journey.
An expedition through Peru means regularly leaving familiar surroundings and embracing new situations. This is why mental training and meditation accompany several stages of our journey.
Meditation, breathwork and moments of mindfulness help us experience the many impressions of the journey more consciously. They also provide balance alongside physically active days and frequent changes of location.
Challenges such as the altitude of the Andes, intensive travel days and unfamiliar training environments offer opportunities to develop focus, endurance and mental resilience. The expedition connects external discoveries with personal growth.
At the beginning of the expedition, we travel from Lima through Cusco into the Sacred Valley. Our shared adventure begins with unique accommodation, YU outdoor training, meditation, mental training and an opening circle.
The Sacred Valley is more than the starting point of our journey through the Andes. It marks the beginning of our expedition as a group. After arriving, we take time to settle in and prepare for the days ahead.
The following day brings one of South America's most famous destinations: Machu Picchu. We travel by train to Aguas Calientes, visit Machu Picchu on a guided tour and include a YU training session as part of this extraordinary day.
Afterwards, we explore Cusco and SacsayhuamΓ‘n. Historic Cusco, Plaza de Armas, Qorikancha and the impressive Inca site are part of the programme, alongside training, meditation and mental development.
Another highlight takes us to Rainbow Mountain. The day begins very early and includes a hike at an altitude of more than 5,000 metres. This makes it one of the more physically demanding experiences of the expedition.
The route takes us through the extraordinary landscapes of the Peruvian Andes. The altitude and physical effort make this a shared challenge that we experience together as a group.
This adventure combines nature, movement, perseverance and community. A short training session is also planned before we return to Cusco for recovery and rest.
On 26 October, we leave Cusco and travel via Lima and Trujillo to Ascope. This marks a new chapter of the YU Taekwondo Peru Expedition 2027: discovering the fascinating Moche civilisation.
After exploring Inca culture in the Andes, we discover another important historical and cultural side of Peru. The programme includes Moche archaeological sites, local experts and insights into traditional healing methods and medicinal plants.
Meditation and rituals complement these cultural experiences, creating opportunities to connect more deeply with the traditions and impressions of the region.
Sunrise training, visits to sacred or historical places, mental training and a ceremony are further elements of these intensive days before our journey continues into a completely different environment.
On 29 October, we travel via Trujillo and Lima to Iquitos. From the harbour, we continue by boat into the Amazon rainforest and towards our lodge. This stage introduces an entirely new environment to our expedition.
Over the following days, we experience the Amazon up close. Wildlife observation, jungle hikes, medicinal plants, survival skills, boat expeditions and night-time activities are part of the planned programme.
Taekwondo remains an important part of the journey. YU outdoor training sessions are combined with sunrise meditation, breathwork and deeper jungle expeditions. Nature, movement and conscious awareness come together in a unique way.
On our final expedition day in the Amazon, a closing ceremony, meditation and a shared farewell ritual mark the transition back to Lima.
A journey like the YU Taekwondo Peru Expedition 2027 is about more than its destinations. For almost two weeks, we travel, train and explore Peru together, sharing countless special moments.
Shared challenges create lasting connections. Whether during training, while travelling through the Andes, discovering cultural traditions or taking a boat into the Amazon, many experiences become even more meaningful when shared with others.
Community is therefore just as important to this expedition as Taekwondo, culture and nature. We discover Peru together, support one another through challenges and experience each destination as one YU team.
This journey is designed for everyone who wants to combine Taekwondo with an extraordinary travel experience. Training sessions are only one part of the programme. Nature, culture, mental training, meditation and shared adventures are equally important.
The expedition includes active and sometimes physically demanding activities, such as hiking, travelling through different climates, spending time at high altitude and exploring the Amazon rainforest.
Curiosity, openness, enjoyment of physical activity and a willingness to embrace new experiences are important qualities for this journey. Minors generally travel with a parent or legal guardian. Participation without an accompanying adult requires separate written consent.
The travel price is based on double-room or shared accommodation.
Single rooms, family rooms, triple rooms and shared rooms may be available upon request, subject to availability and any applicable additional charges.

The YU Taekwondo Peru Expedition 2027 includes physically demanding activities and takes us to high-altitude regions and into the Amazon rainforest. The Rainbow Mountain hike, for example, takes place at an altitude of more than 5,000 metres.
Altitude, hiking, climate, travel between locations and active programme elements are part of the experience. These conditions distinguish the expedition from a traditional holiday or regular Taekwondo camp.
Relevant health conditions must be disclosed before departure. Comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, trip interruption, overseas medical treatment and medical evacuation is strongly recommended.
Registration for the YU Taekwondo Peru Expedition 2027 becomes binding upon signing the registration agreement.
Detailed payment deadlines and payment arrangements will be provided with the booking confirmation.
